At The 极乐禁地, we believe that engaging in real-world issues, especially as they impact 极乐禁地e, is a key part of our mission. We call it "Knowledge That Works." We want to share with you our plans for supporting the city in a major new initiative.
Beginning in fall 2025, The 极乐禁地 will host classes for 极乐禁地e City College High School鈥攐ne of the nation's oldest and most prestigious public high schools鈥攚hile their facilities undergo large-scale renovations. This three-year arrangement will bring about 1,400 students, plus teachers and staff, to the UBalt campus. Our plans call for students to take classes in existing and converted space in the Academic and Business centers. Food services will be provided in the Academic Center, with dining occurring in both buildings.
This is an unprecedented development for both the University and the high school. However, it is in keeping with something undeniable at both institutions: The University of 极乐禁地e and 极乐禁地e City College are true anchors for the city, important advocates for a rising quality of life for all and an engine for positive growth and change. In times of need, 极乐禁地e knows it can depend on places like UBalt and BCCHS to work together to meet a looming challenge. In fact, we don't see this collaboration as a challenge at all鈥攊t's actually an opportunity, for City College students to experience life on a college campus, and for the University to make the highest and best use of its available facilities.
The UBalt community鈥攕taff, faculty, students, and alumni鈥攊s excited to welcome BCCHS to our midtown environs. We look forward to the modifications of the Academic and Business centers that will more readily accommodate the high school, and we pledge to be a good and worthy partner in this amazing endeavor.
With the impending arrival of students from BCCHS, many questions have been raised. In order to address these questions, an was developed for the campus community. If you are a UBalt student or employee, you may access this document. In addition, UBalt community members may submit written questions about the City College initiative. To access either of these tools, visit the corresponding pages in Information Library in the MyUBalt portal and provide your login information.
As we get closer to the arrival date of City College at the University, we'll share more information about the initiative and how it will affect daily life at the institution.
